Board of Directors
A seat on your board, or its technology committee, from someone who has run engineering, cloud and AI at scale.
- Who it is for
- Boards of technology companies, startups preparing for scale or funding, and non-tech companies whose strategy now depends on software and AI
- The problem
- Technology and AI now drive the company's risk and growth, but few directors have built or run these systems themselves.
- What you get
-
- Independent or non-executive director, or technology advisory board member
- Oversight of technology strategy, AI adoption, engineering spend and delivery risk
- Challenge and support for the CTO and engineering leadership, including succession and hiring
- Input on security, reliability and technical due diligence for M&A and fundraising
How it works
I join a small number of boards at a time, as an independent or non-executive director, or on a technology or advisory board. We start with a conversation about the company, its stage and what the board needs, and agree the role, time commitment and terms before anything is signed.
What I bring
26 years across embedded systems, cloud platforms and AI infrastructure, leading organisations of 120+ people at Intel, OLA Krutrim and Palo Alto Networks, and now co-founding NeoSmith AI. That means I can read a technology plan the way a finance director reads a budget: what it will really cost, where it is likely to slip, and which risks the board should ask about.
